Dr. Nicki Harrington

Dr. Nicki Harrington brings five decades of experience in publicly funded education, spanning faculty, executive, and board leadership. A senior CBT consultant and project lead, she has directed institutional assessment and integrated strategic planning engagements across California and seven other states since 2012.

Her perspective is grounded in fourteen years as a chief executive of publicly funded institutions, including two Superintendent/President roles and service as District Chancellor of a multi-college district. As a CEO she was accountable to elected boards, government funders, and the public for institutional strategy, budgets, and outcomes. A trained facilitator and executive coach, she has led everything from large multi-stakeholder charrettes to governing board retreats and small focus groups.

Selected experience

• Led development of strategic and educational master plans across multiple institutions and multi-campus systems
• Guided the expansion of an education center into a fully accredited college
• Led successful passage of two multi-campus facilities bonds in two states, each focused on expanding services to under-represented populations
• Served on rewrite and assessment teams for 504, 508, and ADA compliance; has worked with multiple ethnic populations and tribal nations
• Eight years on the Board of the Chief Executive Officers of the California Community Colleges, serving as Vice President and President
• Four years on the Oregon State Apprenticeship and Training Council; nine years on California's Economic and Workforce Development Program Advisory Committee
