Whitely, Patricia A.
Dr. Patricia A. Whitely has over 30 years of experience in Student Affairs at the University of Miami. She has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs for 18 years and has been the recipient of over 30 awards by the students at the University of Miami. In addition, Whitely served as the Chair of the 2014-2015 NASPA Board of Directors and has received the 2013 NASPA Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance as a Vice President for Student Affairs. Whitely has presented at over 30 national conferences and consulted at over ten universities. She possesses expertise in issues of campus climate and culture, student governance, crisis management, student programming and engagement, and mentoring. She has been a frequent presenter on future challenges facing student affairs.
Whitely earned a Ed.D. in Higher Education from the University of Miami and has a M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina in Student Personnel Services. She also holds a B.S. in Management with a minor in Economics from St. John's University in New York. She is also serves as an adjunct instructor at graduate level at the University of Miami School of Education and Human Development.
