Christopher McShane joins CBT after 23 years as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, which included assignments in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.  His experience encompasses working at U.S. embassies, various bureaus of the Department of State, the U.S. Senate and coordinating programs hosted by the White House.  In addition to managing Fulbright, Humphrey and other USG programs overseas, Chris has facilitated international education exchanges with high schools, community colleges and universities.  Chris also designed and managed numerous professional and leadership development courses in the U.S., most recently for young African leaders and African women entrepreneurs.  Currently, Chris is affiliated with the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) and is a member of the World Affairs Council of Monterey Bay. Chris has a BA in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and remains involved with the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies there.  He also has a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics. Since 2013, Mr. McShane has been a Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of International Policy and Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA. He contributed to the textbook “An Introduction to Modern Arab Culture”, published in September, 2018.
