White, Frances (Fran)

Dr. Frances (Fran) White served as superintendent/president of College of Marin in San Rafael for six years. A Ph.D. (Educational Administration) from the University of California, Berkeley, Fran has a long-record of achievement and success in the community colleges, including five years as president of Skyline College in San Mateo County, three years as Executive Vice Chancellor at the City College of San Francisco and five years as an academic dean at two other California community colleges. Dr. White has a national reputation as an innovative higher education leader. She served as Chair of the Committee on Directors and as a member of the Executive Committee of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), President of the AACC’s President’s Academy, and was the winner of the Harry J. Buttimer Distinguished Administrator Award from the Association of California Community College Administrators.
