Trimble, Karen

Karen Trimble works as the Director of Information Technologies for Yuba Community College District.  She has over 23 years of experience in the California Community College system.  In addition to 12 years in an administrative role, she has also served as adjunct faculty in the computer science department. Under her leadership the District successfully completed the conversion of their administrative software from a legacy system to Datatel’s Colleague. Other areas of expertise include VOIP, server and classroom virtualization, student portals, emergency alert systems, and document imaging.  She has served as President of both the national and the state boards for the Datatel User’s Group.

In Karen’s role as Chief Technology Officer, she serves on a variety of committees.  As the Chair of the Technology Committee, she ensures that the Technology Plan stays aligned with the Facilities Plan and the Educational Plan of both colleges.  The work of these committees proved vital in the passing of a Prop 39 for the District.  She was also a key contributor to the committee charged with the conversion of Woodland Campus to full college status.  Woodland Community College achieved full accreditation status and become the 110th community college in California in the Fall of 2008.
