Dr. Jack Scott, former California state legislator and Chancellor of the State Community College System, has joined the firm to provide consulting services to higher education clients. Dr. Scott will provide strategic advice on both internal and external issues College Brain Trust college clients. “I look forward to continuing my service to community colleges through my new affiliation with the College Brain Trust,” said Dr. Jack Scott. “I have also worked side-by-side with the consultants of the College Brain Trust throughout my career and now look forward to partnering with them to serve colleges both in California and across the United States.”
Dr. Scott retired from the position of State Chancellor of the 112-college community college system where his focus was on student success as the system worked to implement recommendations from his Student Success Task Force amidst dramatic budget cuts. Prior to serving as State Chancellor, Dr. Scott served in both the California State Assembly and Senate where he chaired the Senate Education Committee, representing the Pasadena, Glendale and Burbank areas for 12 years. Prior to serving in the legislature, Dr. Scott was President at Pasadena City College and Cypress College.
Dr. Scott will join the College Brain Trust beginning immediately and will provide strategic advice and consulting services to College Brain Trust clients.
With colleges facing multiple years of cuts and the uncertainty of funding for years to come based on the outcome of Proposition 30 in the November election, Dr. Scott can provide expertise to colleges in managing limited resources and maximizing external revenue sources.
