Linda Heiland has served in a variety of higher education leadership positions over the past 15 years. She has held positions ranging from Director of Compliance to Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness to Chief Academic Officer in both community colleges and the career college sector. For the past five years, she has focused specifically on improving the academic, regulatory and compliance processes/procedures associated with proprietary colleges. In doing so, she has had demonstrated success with taking multiple campuses to a significantly higher level quality in accreditation (regional, national and programmatic) preparation and compliance, process/procedure review and analysis, as well as academic quality improvement. Over that time she has worked as a consultant with colleges throughout the United States and presented at multiple conferences in the United State, Canada and Mexico. She is well published in numerous professional journals related to best practices for student learning outcomes assessment and academic quality. Ms. Heiland is a current member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics – Higher Education group and the American Educational Research Association. In 2007 and 2008 she served as the Arizona State Liaison for the Regional Network for Assessment and Accreditation Support.
Currently, Ms. Heiland works as a private educational and general consultant for public, private, non-profit and for-profit entities and organizations. Ms. Heiland grew up in the Deep South, obtaining her Bachelors’ degree from Belhaven College in Jackson, MS; a Master’s degree in Education from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS and is currently completing her EdD in Higher Education Leadership and Management with Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. She also successfully completed a Post Graduate certificate in Higher Education Leadership and Management with the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
