Sheryl Gessford brings 40 years of experience in community college leadership from Oregon, Alaska, Washington, and California. She is currently the Dean of the Natomas Education Center at American River College (Sacramento). As a leader in Early Childhood Education, she has worked to integrate teacher preparation programs with direct services for children. As a consultant, Sheryl has specialized in program and staff development in the field of Early Childhood Education. She has worked with a wide variety of funding sources including federal, state, and private and has a breath of experience with program models including parent participation, developmental education, family child care, foster care and emancipation, and professional development for teachers, as well as direct preschool and child care services. Sheryl has a baccalaureate in Child Development from Oregon State University and a Master’s in Educational Administration and Multi-cultural Studies from the University of Portland.
